Taste the World Without Leaving Sydney: Parramatta’s Global Food Adventure Returns

Parramatta is inviting food lovers to embark on a culinary journey around the world, without needing a passport, as EAT Parramatta returns this spring.

One of Australia’s most multicultural cities, Parramatta has become a celebrated dining destination where global flavours, family traditions and modern culinary creativity come together.

The city’s growing reputation has also attracted international attention, with Condé Nast Traveller recognising Parramatta as a must-visit dining destination for 2026.

With 56 per cent of Parramatta residents speaking a language other than English at home, the city’s food scene offers an authentic reflection of the many cultures that call the area home.

From award-winning pizza and vibrant Indian street food to Tibetan momos, Indonesian laksa, Vietnamese favourites, Mongolian dishes, Hong Kong cuisine and Lebanese pastries, diners can experience an extraordinary variety of flavours within just a few streets.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the city’s greatest culinary strength was the authenticity of its food and the people behind it.

“Our food story is a reflection of our community and the people behind these dishes bring generations of culture, tradition and passion to the table, creating experiences you simply can’t find anywhere else,” Cr Zaiter said.

“People travel across Sydney to discover Parramatta’s food scene because it offers an incredible mix of culture, flavour and value.”

This year’s campaign will feature popular venues and local favourites, including Indian street food destination Chatkazz, Vietnamese restaurant Tam Tam, Fishboy Private Kitchen for authentic Hong Kong cuisine, Mongol Shop Café and Watch Your Fingers.

Visitors can begin their day with a European-inspired breakfast, enjoy bold South Asian flavours for lunch and finish with Mediterranean cuisine for dinner, all without leaving Parramatta.

The city’s dining success is also delivering strong economic benefits. Visitor spending in Parramatta has reached $1.9 billion, an increase of 5.3 per cent from the previous year, while spending at restaurants has grown by 3.9 per cent.

The campaign arrives as Australians continue to embrace dining out, with OpenTable reporting a 17 per cent increase in restaurant dining during 2025.

Whether you are searching for a comforting bowl of laksa, freshly steamed momos, spicy Indian chaat, authentic Asian cuisine or delicate Middle Eastern pastries, Parramatta offers a dining experience for almost every taste.

Featured restaurants, food trails and local favourites can be explored as part of EAT Parramatta until 18 October 2026.
