Condolences to the family of Matilda

The President of the Federation of Community Language Schools, Lucia Johns, has offered her condolences to the family of Matilda, the ten-year-old student of the Russian language who was killed in the Bondi terrorist attack yesterday.

“The death of Matilda at such a tender age is a great tragedy for her family, her fellow language students, and the whole community.

Matilda had a brilliant future ahead of her as a fluent speaker of a community language. Her future has now been robbed from her by this vicious act of terrorism,” she said.

The CEO of the Federation, Michael Christodoulou AM, also sent his condolences to the Jewish community as a whole, describing the incident as:

“This horrific assault, at a time that should be a happy and celebratory festival.

The Jewish community is a rock-solid component of New South Wales society and deserves the support of every citizen of our state.

I encourage the New South Wales community to generously donate to the GoFundMe appeal set up in loving memory of Matilda Bee Britvan, to support Matilda’s mother,” he said.
