Day 01 – Negombo
No matter how many times you’ve crossed oceans or continents, finally arriving at your destination in a different country is always exhilarating and filled with endless possibilities. After a long flight, it makes sense to stay the first night in a city close to the airport.
Located on the west coast of Sri Lanka, just 30 minutes from Bandaranaike International Airport, Negombo is blessed with golden beaches, fresh seafood, and a vibrant nightlife.
In the morning, explore the city — visit the beach to watch local fishermen at work, stroll past fishermen’s huts and canals that lead south to Colombo, and admire the many Catholic churches with ceilings adorned by vivid religious paintings.
Accommodation options range from beachfront resorts to lagoon-side hotels, offering a perfect balance between serenity and excitement.
