It was lights, camera, and a whole lot of buzz in Mumbai as Netflix unveiled a preview of its much-anticipated series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. The show marks the directorial debut of Aryan Khan, who has created and written the series along with Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the series premieres on 18 September 2025.
The preview revealed a high-octane, stylised drama filled with ambition, humour, and raw energy. With a self-aware and cheeky tone, the series explores the underdog’s journey in the chaotic world of Bollywood—posing questions about dreams, ambition, and the price of survival.
Star-Studded Cast Reveal
Shah Rukh Khan introduced the ensemble cast in trademark witty style, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. The line-up includes Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Rajat Bedi, and Gautami Kapoor.
Aryan Khan, speaking about his vision, shared:
“With The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, I wanted to build a world that feels alive, a mix of glitz and grit, where ambition shines, egos clash, and nothing is ever as it seems. In Netflix, we found a partner who shared our creative vision—helping us tell the story exactly how it needed to be told, raw, stylised, and unlike anything the world has experienced before.”

Monika Shergill, Vice-President of Content at Netflix India, described the show as “witty, bold, and unlike anything audiences have seen before – a true roast-and-toast to Bollywood.” She emphasised Netflix’s continued partnership with Red Chillies Entertainment, calling the project “a shining addition to our diverse slate.”
Music and Creative Team
The series also boasts a power-packed soundtrack from T-Series, with compositions by Shashwat Sachdev, alongside guest contributions from Anirudh Ravichander and Ujwal Gupta.
The Ba**ds of Bollywood* is produced by Gauri Khan, with Bonnie Jain and Akshat Verma as executive producers. Aryan Khan leads as creator and director, supported by co-creators and writers Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan.

After the success of collaborations like Bard of Blood, Darlings, Bhakshak, Betaal, and Class of ’83, this marks the sixth Netflix–Red Chillies Entertainment project, and arguably the boldest yet.
