The Allan Labor Government, in partnership with the Victorian Multicultural Commission, has officially opened nominations for the 2025 Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence โ now in their 24th year.
These prestigious awards honour individuals and organisations who champion diversity, foster inclusion, and build stronger communities across Victoria. Whether through paid roles or voluntary service, nominees are recognised for their leadership and commitment to a fairer, more connected society.

The 2025 awards span 14 categories, including:
- Arts
- Business and Employment
- Emergency Services
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Sport
- Youth Leadership
- Multicultural Honour Roll
- Premierโs Award for Community Harmony
Last yearโs recipients included:
- Rasha Abbas โ Refugee Leadership Award for her advocacy for Palestinian and vulnerable migrant communities
- Sotiris Hatzimanolis โ Media Award for advancing Greek Australian journalism and leading Neos Kosmosโ bilingual transition
- Ali Agha Wali Zada โ Youth Leadership Award for promoting mental health awareness and cultural inclusion among young people
๐ฃ A Call to Recognise Everyday Changemakers
Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ingrid Stitt said,
โVictoriaโs diversity is one of our greatest strengths โ and these awards are about recognising the people and organisations who work every day to make our communities stronger, fairer and more connected.โ
Victorian Multicultural Commission Chairperson Vivienne Nguyen AM added,
โThese awards highlight the remarkable people who are helping to shape a more inclusive Victoria โ their efforts are often quiet, but their impact is profound.โ
