Parramatta, 22 July 2025 — Local community groups, not-for-profits, and social enterprises in the Parramatta area are being called to bring their big ideas to life, with the launch of the 2026 Community Grants Round by the City of Parramatta Council.

With a total pool of $375,000 now available under the Annual Community Grants Program – Community Round, the funding aims to support inclusive, creative, and sustainable initiatives that help build a stronger, more connected local community.

Empowering Grassroots Action

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor, Cr Martin Zaiter, expressed the Council’s ongoing commitment to empowering residents and organisations to enhance quality of life across the LGA.

“A strong local community is the base for creating the best place to live, work and play,” said Cr Zaiter. “These grants are a fantastic opportunity to bring ideas to life and shape a more vibrant, inclusive Parramatta.”

Three Key Grant Categories:

1. Community Capacity Building Grant – $245,000
   Supports clubs, organisations, and grassroots initiatives addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges. Projects must promote access to services, reduce isolation, and encourage local partnerships.
2. Growing Social Enterprise in Parramatta Grant – $80,000
   Targets the expansion of existing social enterprises within the Parramatta LGA—helping fund growth activities, relocations, or new programs that serve the area.
3. Community Event Grant (Round 1) – $50,000
   Aims to support free or low-cost public events with cultural, social, or recreational value, helping diversify the city’s events calendar and engage new audiences.

Application Deadline

Applications for the Community Round close on 15 September 2025, with successful recipients to be announced by December or early January.

The Community Round is part of the broader $725,000 2025/26 Community Grants Program, which includes cultural grants, quarterly support, and representative sports grants.
