India’s rapidly rising wine industry is set to make a grand impression in Sydney this July as the Indian Wine Buyer–Seller Meet (IWBSM) brings ten of the India’s most innovative wine and mead producers to Australian shores.
Curated by the Wine Growers Association of India (WineGAI) and supported by APEDA (Ministry of Commerce, Government of India) and the Consulate General of India in Sydney, this exclusive showcase is more than a tasting event — it’s a strategic step in deepening trade and cultural ties between India and Australia under the India–Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA).
From the vineyards of Nashik to the meaderies of Pune and the fruit orchards of Mysore, IWBSM offers a rare opportunity to explore the full spectrum of India’s vinous creativity — sparkling wines, dry reds, delicate rosés, tropical fruit wines, and even vegan-friendly options.
Featured Producers Include:
- Sula Vineyards – India’s wine pioneer, now exporting to 26+ countries
- Grover Zampa – Award-winning elegance from Nashik & Nandi Hills
- Moonshine Meadery – India’s first meadery, innovating with honey-based brews
- Alurra – Fresh strawberry wines from Panchgani’s lush berry belt
- Talisva – Exotic expressions of pineapple and jamun from Karnataka
- And many more rising stars of India’s wine scene
IWBSM 2025 aims to create meaningful connections between Indian producers and Australian wine importers, sommeliers, restaurateurs, liquor retailers, and enthusiasts — all eager to explore new regions and discover hidden gems in global wine.
With WineGAI taking a lead role in wine diplomacy under ECTA, the event also highlights India’s readiness for mutual recognition of wine standards, high-quality exports, and sustainable practice
Australia is known for its openness to diverse wine cultures. As Indian wines gain global recognition, this event marks a pivotal moment for strengthening bilateral trade through wine.
Introducing Australian consumers to India’s regional richness and winemaking innovation. This first-of-its-kind event is more than a tasting — it’s a celebration of storytelling in every glass, and a signal of India’s ambition to be a key player in the global wine narrative.
