Enlighten us about Jeevan Saath.
Jeevan Saath is a Resort-style apartment complex focused on Community Living Lifestyle embracing Indian Culture for residents aged over 55 in Perth. It is to be a co-operative community, envisaged to be like an extended joint family of friends, enjoying an independent, social and physically active life with the goal of a healthy and happy lifestyle full of enjoyment.
How did you come up with the idea of Jeevan Saath?
My wife and I are at an age where the children have families and their own homes, with our home being too large for our needs. And with more free time we do miss the daily company of others.
We want to down size but still wish to enjoy a good lifestyle. Given nothing was available to suit our cultural and social needs, the Jeevan Saath idea was born. We will be the first residents of Jeevan Saath!
What sets your organisation apart from others? Why should one choose it over others?
An Indian culture based lifestyle living is a new concept in Australia. Most other developments are more focused on providing basic western lifestyle to seniors with limited facilities, amenities and without the option of having cultural food provided. In Perth, Jeevan Saath will be the first lifestyle apartment complex of its kind managed by residents. The community design, large areas of communal facilities and your own space within the community lifestyle sets itself apart from all others
What are the available facilities for people interested?
The Resort style apartment complex will have amazing communal facilities spread over 3,000 square metres for recreation, entertainment and activities. These included, pool, spa, sauna, two large landscaped gardens (one being rooftop) with walking tracks, English and Bollywood theatres, Activity room, Meditation/Yoga room, Dining room, Communal Kitchen and much more.
In addition, there is an option to have home-cooked vegetarian meals in the communal dining hall. The complex will have undercover parking, covered passage ways and lifts. Also, within walking distance is train station, medical centre, pharmacy, shopping centre and retail outlets. Joondalup Hospital and the Beach are also close by.
How do you intend to ensure people get value for their money?
The pricing is expected to be very attractive given not only the great self-contained apartments but also the second to none facilities that come with them.
In addition, the apartments will be strata titled ownership. They are not ‘lease’, ‘lease for life ’with exit or deferred management fees, etc which significantly reduces value and flexibility to the resident/owner.
The apartment owners themselves, with assistance of a Strata Manger appointed by them, manage Jeevan Saath on non-profit basis.
Tell us also about the pricing.
We are currently working with builders to finalise the costs. By the time the first Information Session is held in October 2018, these costs will have been determined and the cost of each Lifestyle Apartment of different sizes and at different levels in Jeevan Saath Complex will then be available.
What will be on offer are one and two bedroom Apartments with the current the indicative price starting from $475,000. For the expected Apartment prices, what you would typically get in today’s market get is just a normal apartment….not a lifestyle apartment with all the resort and lifestyle facilities that Jeevan Saath will provide !
Is it open for only the elderly citizens?
Jeevan Saath is an independent lifestyle living for persons over the age of 55; it is not an aged care facility or nursing home. In case of a couple, one partner needs to be over 55 years of age for them to reside at Jeevan Saath.
If there’s anything else that you want to add, please do.
As we grow older, it is normal that culture and company of like-minded and similar aged persons becomes more important. We wish to be near our children and grandchildren but still yearn for our culture & good company so we can enjoy the rest of our golden years!
How can people interested in collaborating with Jeevan Saath contact?
