GRAND EVENT HOSTED BY BAPS AUSTRALIA AT THE ADELAIDE CONVENTION CENTER

Culture and heritage are a distinct part of the identity of an individual and a community. The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha Australia hosts a variety of initiatives for a deeper understanding about the Indian Culture.

One such Cultural Convention was ‘Sanskrutik Ek Khoj’ – In Search of Indian Culture’ witnessed by over 3000 audiences in the presence of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj on 10 March 2018 at the Adelaide convention centre.

It presented a unique stage show with cultural programs like dance, skits and modern audio visuals to revitalise Indian Culture, values and their benefits to community wide in Australia. This state of the art event took the audience on a journey around the Hinduism, importance of ideal parenting, family unity and benefits of ethical thoughts and behaviours. It relayed the values of humankind, through its heroes and history and revealed the divine expressions of faith, service, humility, fidelity, devotion, tolerance, appreciation, sacrifice and love.

South Australian Premier, Hon. Jay Wetherill the chief guest of the event along with other delegates Mr Tony Zappia MP Member for Makin, Hon Zoe Bettison Multicultural Affairs Minister, Mr Nick Xenophon, Former Senator for South Australia, Hon. Russell Wortley the current president of the South Australian Legislative Council, Dana Wortley Member for Torrens, Mayor Gillian Aldridge City of Salisbury, Mr Chad Buchanan JP Councillor City of Salisbury, and other members from various communities were present on this occasion.

Hon. Jay Weatherill was very pleased and, in his speech, he said “What a privilege to join more than 3000 people to welcome His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj for his first visit to South Australia. As the president and Spiritual Head of BAPS – you graciously lead a worldwide movement dedicated to serving the common good.”

At the conclusion His Holiness Mahant Swami blessed the assembly saying that in this materialistic world of turmoil, life is difficult, but how we can survive by controlling our mind and this can only be achieved by the association with God realised saint (satpurush).
