An opportunity to see your favourite cricketers perform right in front of your eyes is a dream. With the ICC T20 World cup going, MoneyGram sponsored a cricket contest giving Australian cricket aficionados a chance to win a travel voucher comprising of two free tickets, accommodation among other facilities, to watch the cricket match live in India. Organised by Indus Age, the contest saw huge entries from cricket lovers from across the sub-continent, to finally select Mr. Charles Kaye for the coveted prize.
When we asked Charles if he had expected to win, an elated Charles said, “No way did I expect to win! I have not won many competitions and to win this, out of the blue, was incredible. My wife and I thank MoneyGram for running this competition and of course for choosing our entry and for this lifetime opportunity. There are many competitions conducted by various organisations that one reads about. But to actually win a major competition such as this is truly amazing – we are most humbled by this experience. ”
When we asked him about his favourite cricketers both from India and Australia, he said, “From Australia it would have to be David Warner. He has scored a number of centuries in T20 cricket, Australia’s leading run-scorer in this form of the game, as well as its most experienced player. From India Ravichandran Ashwin is the man. He is a fantastic bowler and all rounder of the game.”
An avid reader of Indus Age, Charles thanked Indus Age for organising the contest. “I have been a regular reader of Indus Age for many years. I have noticed the publication grow over this period of time. The gloss pages have increased, the content has been varied and entertaining and I believe Indus Age has expanded into many cities throughout Australia and Fiji. I have read other Indian publications, but by far Indus Age is the most read and it must be the most popular. This is shown by having to be early to get your copy. Over the last few editions, there was an actual queue lined up to get a copy. Well done to the publication and the publisher and a big thank you for running this competition,” Charles was quoted as saying.
Expressing admiration over fulfilling the dream of one of the biggest cricket aficionados, Nidhi Kataria, Marketing Manager, Australia & Oceania, MoneyGram International said, “MoneyGram sponsors ICC with a vision to bring fans and customers closer to cricket, which was a theme for this campaign and is in line with our corporate tagline: “bringing you closer”. Charles Kaye, the winner of this campaign has shown passion & enthusiasm for cricket in his video submission, and MoneyGram is delighted to bring his dream come true!”
Indus Age congratulates the winner of the contest. We would also like to thank our partners, MoneyGram and ICC World Cup.
