Glimpses of billions celebrating ‘Parents Worship Day’ on 14th February

By Ashok Attri

None can deny the teachings of Vedas which say that merely by your resolve, you can make anything possible in this universe. This has been proved true by H.H. Sant Shri Asaram Bapu Ji by his pious & revolutionary resolve. Seeing the ruination of the youth by the festivals like valentine, Bapu Ji’s heart was very aggrieved. To save the youth from destruction, he took a holy pledge in 2007 and initiated the celebration of Matri-Pitri Pujan Diwas (MPPD) or Parents Worship Day (PWD) on 14th February. Since 2007, 14th February is being celebrated as a Matri-Pitri Pujan Diwas. Every section of the society greatly appreciated and gladly accepted this commendable initiative. The Muslim fraternity has also strongly welcomed this festival and has started celebrating this festival as Abba Ammi Ibadat Diwas.

Billions of children and parents celebrated this festival either alone at home or in groups at school or public grounds. In Ram Leela Maidan in Shri Ganganagar, 12000 children celebrated this festival jointly. In several states in India like Maharashtra, Haryana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Valentine’s Day has been officially renamed as Matru-Pitru Pujan Diwas and is celebrated in schools where children seek the blessings from their parents. In countries like the USA, Canada, France, UK, UAE, Australia, Singapore, this festival was celebrated with full spirit.
