The BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute proudly announces the launch of the Hinduism Basics course in Sydney, aimed at young people and delivered in English.
Following the successful inauguration of the Institute in Sydney at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir last year, the temple recently hosted its second educational conference themed ‘Timeless Hindu Wisdom’ under the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute banner on 16 July 2023.
The conference, graced by more than 60 guests from 27 diverse community and cultural organisations, focused on exploring the relevance of Hindu scriptures in modern times.
Through engaging discussions and awe-inspiring performances, attendees delved into the timeless wisdom of sacred texts like Satsang Diksha, Bhagwat Gita, Shrimad Bhagavatam and the Ramayana, gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of Hindu philosophy in today’s world.
Praful Jethwa of BSRIA said, “The aim of the conference and the newly launched Hinduism Basics course is to help future generations of Australian Hindus stay connected with their cultural roots.
“The course will allow young people to learn the fundamentals of Hinduism in a contemporary and accessible manner.”
A notable highlight of the event was the awe-inspiring performance by youths aged between 4 and 17, who showcased their dedication and talent by reciting Sanskrit shlokas from ancient texts. Their ability to recite the verses with precision and pride left the audience mesmerised, showcasing the continuity of culture across generations.
The BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute remains committed to fostering an environment of dialogue and learning, bridging the gap between the younger generation and their cultural heritage.
The upcoming Hinduism Basics course is yet another step towards preserving and sharing the richness of Hindu wisdom with the community.
