‘No blood on objects used to torture maids’

New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS) No blood was detected on the electric iron, stick and metallic horns which were allegedly used by former parliamentarian Dhananjay Singh’s wife to beat her domestic helps, police told a court here.

Police on Sep 6 had filed a supplementary chargesheet containing Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report in the maid torture-and-death case against Singh and his wife Jagriti Singh in a magisterial court here.

The magisterial court after considering the supplementary chargesheet, had sent it to the sessions court for hearing Sep 24.

The details of the chargesheet were made available Wednesday.

“….It is stated that three exhibits i.e. wooden danda (stick), two metallic horns and one electric iron were sent to FSL for examination. Blood or fibre/skin/tissue could not be detected on these exhibits,” the supplementary chargesheet said.

Police had alleged in the first chargesheet filed in the case that Jagriti used to beat three domestic helps with metallic deer horns, wooden sticks and electric iron.

Additional Sessions Judge Lokesh Kumar Sharma Wednesday fixed Oct 30 for commencing argument on the charges in the case and extended interim bail to Singh till then.
