The Rex Express services, announced in partnership with Snowy Mountains Airport Corporation Pty Ltd will see five return flights per week, with additional flights during the busy ski season.

“The new Rex Express service between Sydney and the Snowy Mountains is fantastic news for driving visitation to the local area,” Mr Ayres said.

“After another great ski season, this new regular service will see additional capacity added during the peak winter period, will make heading to the snow much easier and much faster.

“The Snowy Mountains welcomed more than 664,000 international and domestic visitors, in the year ended June 2015.”

Member for Monaro John Barilaro said the announcement is a game changer for our region; these flights will make the Snowy Mountains more accessible for domestic and international tourists wanting to experience the beauty of this region.

“Whilst over half of international tourists visiting Australia arrive at Sydney’s Kingsford-Smith Airport, only 20 per cent travel on to regional NSW,” Mr Barilaro said.

“This new direct flight from Sydney to Cooma will make it easier for International visitors to discover the wonders of the Monaro during both winter and summer seasons.

“This new service will give visitors from Sydney an express lift pass to the Snowies,” he said.
