Mother Dairy, a major distributor of milk in Delhi and its adjoining areas, announced an increase of Rs.2 a litre in prices of its milk with effect from Saturday.

Mother Dairy’s full cream milk (poly pack) will now cost Rs.46 a litre against the existing Rs.44, while a litre of toned milk will cost Rs.36 against Rs.34, said a Mother Dairy spokesman.

Prices of toned bulk milk vended (token milk), double toned (poly pack) and skimmed variety have been hiked by Re.1 a litre.

Mother Dairy, which sells 30 lakh litres of milk per day in Delhi, raised the retail prices because of the ongoing rise in the prices of raw milk in the last few months coupled with the need to ensure availability of milk in the consumer market, the spokesman said.
