30The great Australian dream of home ownership is alive and well according to developer Lend Lease.

Neil O’Connor, Lend Lease General Manager for Victoria said for residents in Melbourne’s south-west the dream can be realised now, with construction of Lend Lease’s newest community Harpley underway in Werribee.

The much-anticipated VIP releases of land have both sold out, in what is the fastest sales outcome in Victoria for the company this year.

Harpley is designed around 60 hectares of lakes and wetlands with more than 30 hectares of open water. Upon completion the master planned community will be home to 12,000 residentsand feature a range of professional services including a supermarket and selection of specialty shops, restaurants and cafes, a council community centre, childcare centre, medical centre and chemist.

There is fibre optic broadband and direct access from the Princes Freeway, making it one of the most accessible communities in Melbourne’s south-west.

“We have really focused on creating the best place for residents, whether they are buying a first home, moving into the area, or downsizing and staying in the local community,” said Mr O’Connor.

“The positive response to Harpley is evidence of the demand for quality and affordable homes in this region of Melbourne, and testament to Lend Lease’s legacy of creating great places to live,” said Neil O’Connor, Lend Lease General Manager for Victoria.

In addition to Harpley, Lend Lease currently has available packages in other regions around Melbourne, including Atherstone in the west, Mayfield in the south-east and Laurimar in the north.

Mr O’Connor says urban planning and place making that responds to the expectations of contemporary Australian families are key reasons behind the demand for Lend Lease developments.

“Our residents tell us they want to live in a place where they can get to know their neighbours, feel they belong to a community and have a wide range of options for their future home,” said Mr O’Connor.

Lend Lease has created eleven community developments throughout Victoria including flagship communities like Caroline Springs and Lakeside Pakenham. Lend Lease invests in developing unique places, and strong communities. With over 150,000 people who live, learn, work or play in more than 45 major Lend Lease communities across Australia.
