“They are funny, quick on their feet and – most importantly – entertaining. ★★★★” – Herald Sun

“What I love most about your act is you guys” – Eddie Perfect

This August and October, the Gentleman of Deceit present Three Times the Magic in Melbourne and Sydney, the new show that bursts with the dapper humour, world-class illusions and fresh, imaginative flair that has seen the trio make magic cool again.

Earning not one but three standing ovations as 2016 Grand Finalists on Australia’s Got Talent, Gentlemen of Deceit are undeniably Australia’s new magical darlings. Three Times the Magic features astonishing new illusions alongside time-honoured favourites: the Gentlemen predict the lottery; perform staggering feats of mind control; sledgehammer a phone on stage then discover it later sealed in a tin of beans. Their act forgoes smoke and mirrors trickery in favour of intelligent narrative and spectacle, conjuring an audience intimacy long missing from professional magic.

Meeting at a magic society six years ago, the three Gentlemen – Luke Hocking, Alex de la Rambelje, and Vyom Sharma; an insurance salesman, a teacher and a doctor – were drawn together by a shared passion for devising original, mind-blowing illusions and a mutual disdain for the cheesy jokes and old stereotypes. As proved by the enraptured audiences of Australia’s Got Talent, the trio’s winning performance is a precise alchemy, a combination of their quirky humour, sleight-of-hand expertise and infectious magical geekery.

Since 2011, the Gentlemen of Deceit’s five shows have included sell-out seasons at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and the world-famous Hollywood Magic Castle in Los Angeles. They have established an international reputation for sophisticated, witty performances that ditch the white doves and sequins of Vegas for baked beans and tennis balls, bringing magic back into the everyday. With ten national awards between them, Luke, Alex and Vyom are each highly regarded magicians in their own right.
