Celebrities come together supporting Designers Against AIDS (DAA) organization, Belgium

Sometimes when it comes to doing a good deed, the best thing celebrities can offer is not just money, but themselves. Charities automatically cultivate relationships with stars for their ability to increase the public’s awareness of their charitable endeavours and thus help in stimulating more donations. It has been seen that many celebrities take time out of their busy schedules to do charitable acts throughout the year.

The Designers Against AIDS (DAA) a non-profit organization which has run a number of successful campaigns such as Fashion against Aids, seeking to mould the opinion of the public and have also collaborated with several fashion houses, such as H&M, who will soon be launching retail outlets in India next year.

The Fashion against Aids campaign has been supported by global superstars such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Akon, The Cardigans, The Scissor Sisters, Ziggy Marley, Yoko Ono( wife of the late Beetles Singer John Lennon) to name a few. Playboy girl Shanti Dynamite is contributing towards the DAA foundation, drawing attention and to increasing young people’s awareness of HIV/AIDS. She also plans to create awareness on AIDS programs and sex education material in India.

Shanti Dynamite said “It was a great honor to work with DAA on the Fashion Against Aids Campaign. I have always wanted to do something positive for the peoples, and I think bringing awareness will saves many lives. If I am able to save one person from being infected, I will be extremely pleased. I am glad that I can give back to society and through this campaign”

Ninette Murk from Belgium spoke of the DAAs recent success running HIV prevention workshops she said, “DAA and Youth AIDS, Population Services International’s HIV/AIDS prevention initiative, has reaches more than 600 million young people in 60 countries. We are happy by providing awareness of safe sex and HIV prevention.”
