Australia India Society Of Victoria Inc with over 50 years of community service

celebrated India’s Independence Day celebrations on 15th of August 2015 with a

capacity crowd at the Cinnamon Club in Melbourne. Guests of honour included the

honourable Mr Tim Richardson and Mrs Inga Peulich Shadow Minister for

Multicultural Affairs representing The Hon Matthew Guy, Leader of the

Opposition. Guests were treated with a sumptuous buffer dinner, entertainment by

Bollywood Dazzlers and a live six piece band.

AISV was in 2013: Winner of the most prestigious awards, the “Bharatiya Pravasi

Samman Award” bestowed upon an Overseas Indian Association by the President

of India His Excellency Shri Pranab Mukherjee . This is the only organisation in

Australia to have received this coveted award. The award was received in Cochin

India by the current president of AISV Dr Gurdip Aurora.

And  in 2011 was the Winner of the Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence

towards community services.
