AAP sets up election war room in Uttar Pradesh

aap newThe Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which intends to contest all the 80 seats from Uttar Pradesh – and 350 overall – in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, has set up an election war room here, a party official said.

The state secretariat, as it is called, will double up as AAP’s office and the strategy room where party workers and leaders will brainstorm on the forthcoming elections.

An IVR (interactive voice response) system and computers are being set up in the war room for storing the electoral history and other information of all the parliamentary constituencies, Vaibhav Maheshwari, a member of the state secretariat, told IANS.

Party leader Sanjay Singh had Monday announced the setting up of a coordination committee and a state secretariat.

Sanjay Singh, a close associate of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said the party would contest all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and 350 Lok Sabha seats throughout the country.

He said party workers in-charge of Lok Sabha seats have been deputed in all parliamentary constituencies, adding the AAP would field candidates against all major political leaders, including Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, BSP supremo Mayawati and the Congress leadership.

He criticised the ruling Samajwadi Party and said the state was witnessing unprecedented failure of law and order mechanism and hooliganism.
