A NEW CEO FOR SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK AUTHORITY

NSW Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres today announced on behalf of the NSW Government and the Board of the Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) the appointment of Mr Charles Moore as Chief Executive Officer of SOPA effective 28 November 2016.

Mr Moore brings to the role an extensive knowledge of the property sector, a deep understanding of development of community precincts, and a proven track record of strong leadership.

“With the recent release of SOPA’s 2030 Master Plan outlining the biggest revitalisation of Sydney Olympic Park in its history I have great confidence in Charles’ leadership to deliver the vision for the Park,” Mr Ayres said.

The SOPA board, chaired by The Hon John Fahey, will support the precinct overhaul set to provide homes for 23,500 residents, businesses, new transport links, parklands and retail.

“Charles’ experience and executive capabilities will enable the Authority to take the next critical steps in further developing Sydney Olympic Park as one of Sydney’s premier major events destinations, providing world-class regional parklands and an economic hub for business, residents and students in the heart of Sydney,” Mr Fahey said.

Mr Moore has held senior management positions across finance, property and asset management sectors. Prior to joining SOPA he undertook executive leadership roles in Property NSW, Colonial First State Asset Management, and the Commonwealth Property Office Fund (CPA), one of Australia’s leading real estate investment trusts.

Both Minister Ayres and Chairman Fahey thanked Mr Nick Hubble for his dedication, commitment and sound stewardship of SOPA as acting CEO over the last four months.
