WESTERN SYDNEY WELCOMES OPAL CARD

NSW Premier Barry O’FarrellMember for Parramatta, Geoff Lee MP was delighted to welcome  and Transport Minister, Gladys Berejiklian to announce the rollout of the Opal Card across Western Sydney.
“It’s great to see electronic ticketing introduced on the Carlingford Line from February 14 and on the Western Line from February 28.”
“It will mean cheaper fares and shorter queues for many Parramatta commuters” Geoff said.
“As the 4th busiest station across the network with over the 32,000 commuters daily, Parramatta station will benefit greatly from Opal.”
“The introduction of this advanced technology across Parramatta complements the city’s modern and innovative drive” Mr Lee added.
The Opal card will allow commuters to travel for free after 8 trips per week and have fares upto 13% cheaper for single trips when compared to the MyZone single train fare.
