1. A two shuttered main door opening inside and clockwise is auspicious.

2. Use very good quality wood for main entrance.

3. Make sure that main door is noise free while opening or closing.

4. Always keep entrance door well lit with bright lights.

5. Make sure to have a beautiful name plate on entrance of a home; this attracts

prosperity, wealth and happiness.

6. Make the main door a bit higher than ground level and keep number of steps

odd.

7. The width of the door should be half of the height of the door.

8. Main door must be above ground level and not below in any case.

9. It should have a design and should be painted.

10. Doors should have thresholds preferably made in marble or wood. Display

two pair of auspicious Laxmi steps on both sides of threshold to invite

Laxmiji, a goddess of wealth.

11. There should not be any obstruction in the entrance gate with things like

poles, tree, wires and vehicles.

12. Avoid having an underground tank, septic tank under the main entrance

13. Shoes should not be kept in front of the door, but to the side. Keep the

entrance clutter free and tidy to make the surrounding positive.

14. Entrance of house should not face temple or any religious place.

15. Main gate should never face intersecting roads
