Udok Performing Arts performed on 17 November, 2018 at Wentworthville Park in Sydney, which was organised by Cumberland Council and Rajib & Moumita, Founders of Udok Performing Arts.

The Program was about Diwali: The Illumination. People celebrate Diwali by lightning rows of clay lamps to mark the return of King Sri Ram to Ayodhya after he defeated Ravana & also on that day Lord Krishna defeated the demon NaraKasura.

The group performed in various colourful dances to highlight the stories and the meaning of Diwali. Udok Performing Arts performed in four songs with their Sydney Branch Students. They depicted the story of: “How Ram defeated Ravana & takes Sita away from Lanka Kingdom.”

Rajib, Founder of Udok Performing Arts said, “The Culture of Indian Classical Dance is so rich and powerful that not only as a classical dancer but also as a human being, I think it’s my duty to spread this richness all over the world. That’s why we are here & opened our dance academy in Sydney Australia & also thinking to expand the Indian Classical dance throughout the country.”

Moumita, Founder of Udok Performing and eminent classical dancer added: “For me dance is the interpretation of life. Our sole aim is to spread the essence of Indian Classical dance all over world, especially outside India. We are working hard since 2012 to establish our institution outside India & we finally have opened our branch in Australia and we hope we will open more branches soon.”

Udok Performing Arts have performed in various countries like Australia, Germany, Scotland, France, Sweden, and England among others. “We hope that we get more opportunities to represent Indian tradition abroad,” the founders of Udok Performing Arts were quoted as saying.
