Monopoly, cowboy hats and fairy wings were the order of the day when 30 kids from  Westmead Children’s Hospital and Royal Far West were let loose on the sea of 336  Showbags to select their top picks at today’s Sydney Royal Showbag Launch.

“From enduring favourites like Bertie Beetle and Warheads to 28 new Showbags in 2014,  hunting down the perfect bag is one of the great traditions the Show has to offer,” said  Michael Collins, Chief Operating Officer of the Sydney Royal Easter Show (the Show).

“There’s nothing better than the shuffling of Showbags, the unmistakable smell of the Showbag Pavilion and the sweet treats of Jelly Beans and Wonka Chocolate. It really is a feast for the senses.

“But not everyone is looking for a sweet treat – there are plenty of dress ups for the young and young at heart including NRL State of Origin, Peppa Pig and Skylanders Swap Force,” Mr Collins said.

Parents can also get in on the action with Darrell Lea, Athletica and A Little Luxury sponsored by Prevention Magazine.

To prepare for the busy Showbag Pavilion, Showgoers can make their choice ahead of time using an online wish list and budget tool available on the Show website.
