Singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad set to make his Australian debut

With the release of his debut album, In Tokens & Charms in 2015, Delhi-based singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad firmly established himself as one of the frontrunners in the Indian independent music scene, and has been quickly building buzz across the globe with spotlight performances at festivals like SXSW, Canadian Music Week, and more. Kuhad will make his Australian debut this September with an official showcase at BIGSOUND in addition to dates in Sydney and Melbourne.

In Tokens & Charms and the live shows have been receiving rave reviews; the album was picked as the “Indian Indie Album of the Year” by iTunes in 2015 and most recently was featured as part of NPR Music’s “The Austin 100: What to Listen to at SXSW”.

Kuhad, with his unique blend of minimal folk arrangements and pop-rock melodies, effortlessly captures life’s complexities in his songs. Having toured across India, he has also performed in Austin, Toronto, New York, and LA, playing festivals such as SXSW (2016), CMW (2016), MUSEXPO (2016),Bacardi NH7 Weekender (2012, 2013, 2015), Ziro Festival (2014, 2015), VH1 Emerge – the opening act for Alt-J’s India Tour in 2015, and more.
