Record breakers from Australia, England, Scotland, Canada and India honoured by Longines

Aussie Cycling Team at Longines Records Club 1_preview

GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA: Today, Monday 9 April, Swiss watchmaker, Longines, honoured nine athletes from Australia, England, Scotland, Canada and India and celebrated three world records and eight Commonwealth Games records in a special Longines Records Ceremony.

World record holders were presented with limited edition Conquest V.H.P. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games watches, certificates and a donation in their names to UNICEF as an acknowledgement of this amazing achievement. The Commonwealth Games Record breakers were presented with a certificate and a donation in the athlete’s names to UNICEF. If all the World Record and Commonwealth Games Record holders attend the Longines Records Ceremonies, the total amount will be doubled.

Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing, Mr Juan-Carlos Capelli alongside CGF President, Louise Martin CBE and GOLDOC Vice President, Mike Victor, acknowledged the athletes.

All World Records and Commonwealth Games Records will be officially celebrated by acknowledging the athlete or team after the record takes place, with the Longines Records Ceremony. These special events will take place at the Longines Records Club, which is located in prime position at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. The next ceremonies will take place at9am on 11 and 13 April and at 12noon on 15 April.
