Yesterday, we had reported that Deepika Padukone is finalized for Karan Johar’s ‘Shuddhi’ and now it is learnt that Ranveer Singh has been roped in to play the male lead in the film.

The actor is currently shooting in Delhi for YRF’s ‘Kill Dil’ and after returning from the capital, he will meet Karan Johar and director Karan Malhotra for the final discussion and for signing the dotted lines.

It was reported that Shah Rukh Khan was also being considered for the role, but the source says, “Karan has zeroed down on Ranveer.”

Well, Ranveer also has to start Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’, so how he will handle both the films?

The source said, “That won’t be a problem as Bhansali’s film will not take off before March 2015.”

‘Shuddhi’ will go on floors in the end of 2014.
