“Rajjo was not only a emotionally demanding but was also a physically demanding role” – Madhuri Dixit

madhuriA woman with a million dollar smile, a smile that has made people fanatical across the globe. Yes, she is none other than the Bollywood diva MadhuriDixt.

Often cited as one of the best actresses in Bollywood, Dixit made her film debut in Abodh (1984) and received wider public recognition with Tezaab (1988). She went on to establish herself as one of Hindi cinema’s leading actresses, acknowledged for several of her performances, her beauty, and her accomplished dancing.

Madhuri’s upcoming film ‘Gulaab Gang’ is all set to release world wide on 7th of March.Friends India Entertainment, Sydney is bringing the film to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Gulaab Gang is a woman centric social film presented by Sahara Movie Studios and Bharat Shah, directed by a debutant director SoumikSen and produced by AnubhavSinhastarring Madhuri Dixit and JuhiChawla as leads.

On a recent visit to Mumbai, Nikita Sharma from ‘Indus Age’ got an incredible opportunity for an exclusive tête-à-tête with the ‘Hum AapkeHainKaun’ starrer.

On being asked that how different is Gulaab Gang from all the other movies that are coming up with a social message in them, Dixit said, “I think Gulaab Gang is different in a sense as there is no lecturing, whatever we wanted to say and portray is done in a very entertaining way. There is music, dancing, fight sequences and the usual MasalaStuff”.

Madhuri also mentioned that her character in the film, ‘Rajjo’ was a difficult character to play. “It was not only emotionally demanding but also a very physically demanding role as this was the first time I have done action in a movie”.

The cast of the movie took special training to learn hand-to-hand combat, hold and use weapons likelaathi’s, sickles etc.because the characters of the movie were to be shown in the sense that they are using these instruments daily.

“We shot in a place which was completely open with no shade and the scorching heat. I had bruises but it was all worth it as I thoroughly enjoyed it,” said Madhuri.

When asked Madhuri about her experience of working with JuhiChawla for the first time, she said “It was great as Juhi is a wonderful actress and this was the first time we have worked together. We both are doing very different roles in the film and there were a lot of scenes that were crackling with energy and chemistry but I think we managed to pull that off really well”.

In the end, Madhuri thanked all her fans across the globe for their support. “I hope that you keep loving me the same way and I hope to keep doing better work for all you guys”.
