Rain leads to chilly Wednesday, Thursday to be colder

New Delhi, Jan 14 (IANS) Overnight rain lead to a chilly Wednesday, as the maximum temperature settled six notches below the season’s average at 14.7 degrees Celsius. The Met department has forecast a colder Thursday.

Wednesday’s minimum temperature, which was recorded three notches above average at 11 degrees, will dip Thursday.

The movement of over 85 trains were affected due to bad weather. There was moderate fog in the morning, as visibility dropped to 400 metres at 8.30 a.m.

“Thursday morning is expected to see dense fog and the day will remain cloudy,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

Thursday’s maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 17 and 8 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Tuesday’s minimum temperature was four notches below the season’s average at 4 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature settled two levels below the season’s average at 18.3 degrees Celsius.
