Rahul accuses BJP of divisive politics

40Sirsa (Haryana), April 6 (IANS) Accusing the BJP of practising divisive politics, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Sunday said each state in India has its own model of development.

Addressing a Lok Sabha election rally here, he accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of practising divisive politics but did not name the party.

The Congress leader said: “These people, wherever they go, instigate people to fight among themselves.”

Taking a dig at BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi over the much flaunted Gujarat model of development, he said: “We do not require the Gujarat model. Here, we need the Haryana one. You are on top in wheat and milk production.”

He said the Congress takes action whenever there is corruption.

Gandhi said some farmers from Gujarat had complained to him that they were forced to leave the state after being called “outsiders”. He said: “We take everyone along. We do not practise politics of anger but that of mutual affection.”
