POLICE CONGRATULATED FOR MAJOR DRUG BUST

4eb2c9f33e105.image_Deputy Premier and Minister for Police Troy Grant has congratulated the NSW Police Force after $50 million of ice was seized during an operation in Sydney.

“There is no drug as corrosive to human decency as the drug ice and I applaud the NSW Police Force for their hard work getting 50 kilograms of this insidious drug off our streets,” Mr Grant said.

“I have never seen a drug have such an impact on communities across the State, tearing apart families and destroying lives. Its affects ripple across the community.

“Recently the NSW Government joined with NSW Police to launch a new ice campaign urging members of the public to join the fight against ice and report anything they see or hear.

“The NSW Government has a targeted plan to stamp out the drug and support affected communities, introduce harsher penalties for ice dealers and provide increased treatment programs for users.

“Today’s result by the NSW Police Force Drug Squad is an encouraging sign that we are slowly cracking down on those manufacturers and peddlers.

“I congratulate all officers involved and encourage members of the public to continue contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with tips that will help stop this drug in from destroying more lives.”
