PM arrives in Kerala on three-day visit

manmohan1Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here Friday night on a three day visit.

He was received at the airport by Kerala Governor Nikhil Kumar, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, cabinet ministers and others.

Manmohan Singh will spend the night at the Kerala Raj Bhavan and Saturday morning will unveil the plaque of the Central University’s campus here.

Then he has two programmes in the capital city – the inauguration of an e-literacy programme and also the opening of the TCS Learning centre located at the Technopark campus.

From there, he will go to Kochi to inaugurate the Rs.4,200 crore Petronet LNG Terminal (PLL) at Puthu Vypeen.

Petronet LNG is a joint venture of the Indian government and its promoters are GAIL (India) Limited (GAIL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

The Kochi Project is a Greenfield LNG Regasification terminal with a capacity of five million metric tonnes per annum (MMPTA).

On Sunday, Manmohan Singh will take part in two different 90th birthday celebrations – one of leading media house Mathrubhumi and also of veteran Congress leader and former minister M.M.Jacob, after which he will return to Delhi.
