NSW PREMIER TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND

imagesNSW Premier Mike Baird will meet with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key during his first official visit to New Zealand as Premier.

 

Mr Baird will visit Wellington and Auckland during his visit from Sunday 16 August to Tuesday 18 August 2015.

 

“We have strong cultural, diplomatic and business links with New Zealand and the purpose of this visit will be to look at ways to grow our economies and share knowledge on good governance,” Mr Baird said.

 

“The New Zealand Government is excelling in the area of customer service delivery so I want to look at ways we could learn from their experiences.

 

“New Zealand is interested in how we are delivering our infrastructure vision as it examines its own plans for future growth, and I look forward to comparing notes during my visit.”

 

Mr Baird will meet with Prime Minister John Key to discuss continued cooperation between NSW and New Zealand in the following areas:

 

  • Infrastructure planning, financing and investment
  • Effective delivery of government services
  • Social investment

 

Mr Baird will also meet with Deputy Prime Minister Bill English to discuss infrastructure planning, financing and delivery.

 

Opportunities for NSW and New Zealand to cooperate through the G20 Global Infrastructure Hub will be discussed at a meeting with the inaugural CEO of the Hub Chris Heathcote and representatives from the New Zealand Government.
