NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR MULTICULTURAL QUEENSLAND ADVISORY COUNCIL

The State Government is calling for nominations to the new Multicultural Queensland Advisory Council.

Multicultural Affairs Minister Grace Grace said the Advisory Council would play a key role advising government on multicultural policies.

“We’re looking for committed Queenslanders with a proven passion for multiculturalism to serve on the Advisory Council,” she said.

“The council was established by the new Queensland Multicultural Recognition Bill and will help to promote the Multicultural Queensland Charter.

“It’s all about creating a more inclusive Queensland and recognising the strengths of our multicultural and linguistically diverse communities.”

Ms Grace said the Advisory Council would help to support the aspirations of Queenslanders from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

“It will explore how services and programs can be better targeted and more responsive to the needs of Queensland’s multicultural communities,” she said.
