“Chief minister undertook a hectic six-hour-long tour of Srinagar city on Tuesday amidst intense cold after which he complained of exhaustion.

“On Wednesday he took complete rest at his official residence. It was felt appropriate to proceed to the union capital for consultation and medical check up,” said the spokesman, adding Sayeed’s “health is absolutely fine and he is taking rest”.

State government sources had earlier said Sayeed was complaining of neck pain for the last two days, and “after symptomatic treatment did not relieve the pain, the chief minister was rushed in an air ambulance to New Delhi and admitted in AIIMS”.

An AIIMS spokesman said that the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister “was admitted in the private ward of the institute today (Thursday) at 12.30 p.m”.
