Led Zeppelin’s ‘Celebration Day’ bags best rock album Grammy

grammyLegendary rock band Led Zeppelin’s “Celebration Day” bagged the best rock album trophy at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

The gala event was held Sunday at the Los Angeles staples Center.

“Celebration Day” documents live performances of the surviving members of the band during their reunion in 2007. The album includes some of their hits like “Whole Lotta Love”, “Rock and Roll”, “Black Dog”, “Dazed and Confused” and “Stairway to Heaven”.

The existing group members include Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. They were accompanied by Jason Bonham, son of their original drummer John Bonham on the stage.

Along with Led Zeppelin, David Bowie’s “The Next Day”, Black Sabbath’s “13”, Queens Of The Stone Age’s “…Like Clockwork” and Kings Of Leon’s “Mechanical Bull”, were also nominated in the best rock album category.
