182New Delhi, Nov 21 (IANS) An 11-year-old boy, kidnapped from Delhi, was rescued from a railway station in Jharkhand and two people were arrested with the help of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), police said Friday.

Sanjay Kumar Singh and Mantu Parsad, both residents of West Bengal, were arrested from Gomoh railway station in Jharkhand while alighting from a train, police said.

“Due to a swift action of Delhi Police and staff of RPF at Gomoh railway station, the two accused were nabbed and the victim was rescued,” Deputy Commissioner of Police N. Gnanasambandan said.

The boy was kidnapped Sunday by the accused, who were known to his maternal uncle Milan.

Victim’s family members reported the matter to police Monday when they received a ransom call from an unknown person, demanding Rs.1.5 lakh to release the boy.

“The accused revealed that they had some dispute with Milan regarding the payment. They visited Milan’s house Sunday where they found the boy. They kidnapped him, assuming he is Milan’s son,” police said.

“Both the accused are drug peddlers and supply marijuana in Delhi,” police said.

Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi Friday felicitated the RPF team members of Gomoh railway station and Delhi Police.
