‘Indian Australian Ambassador of the Year’ awarded to DD Saxena

DD Saxena, Managing Director of ROBE, was honoured with the highly prestigious Indian Australian Ambassador of the Year award for 2015. As the Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull said in his message that the contributions of Indian- Australians have increased significantly over the years; this is indeed a tribute to DD’s leadership, tenacity and drive to receive this Award in such a competitive environment.

“I am humbled, honoured and privileged to have been given this award. It has been a very fascinating journey. We’ve had our fair share of challenges and it has been like a game of snakes and ladder, full of ups and downs, falls and rises but in the end it was our self belief and commitment and a vision to see through to create this enterprise,” DD said in his speech.

Speaking on the time being ripe for India Australia business DD added, “I think the time has come in Australia, particularly in business for business, leaders to make a difference, to impact and certainly contribute. I think awards like this add to our success, it gives us respect and give us credibility as it is only through success that we can make a difference”.

ROBE was mentioned in glowing terms in multiple speeches, as a shining light for its achievements in the Agri-Business sector.  The recognition was a timely reminder and a recognition of how much effort was taken to bring ROBE to its current imminent position.

 

The India Australia Business & Community Awards were given at a glittering ceremony at the Ivy Ballroom in CBD Sydney, which was packed to capacity.  The Chief Guest for the event was the Hon Premier of NSW, Mike Baird and the Keynote Address was delivered by Ita Buttrose, the Australian of the Year for 2013.

Amongst the notable guests were the Consul General of India, Mr Sunjay Sudhir, several Federal/ State parliamentarians and the Chairman to SBS.
