High court moved against Delhi government’s ‘anarchy’

dhcA plea was filed Friday in Delhi High Court against the “anarchy” created by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Law Minister Somnath Bharti recently under the garb of protest for suspension of certain police officials.

Filing the plea, teacher Ajay Gautam, contending that a few metro stations and several roads were closed to public due to the protest, asked the court to take immediate action against the responsible persons.

Justice Manmohan, hearing the plea, refused to pass any direction saying a similar matter is pending before the Supreme Court and this plea can be decided only after the apex court’s decision.

The court posted the matter for March 6.

The plea asked whether this type of “hooliganism” – blocking of public roads, metro stations by political executive and members of the ruling political party – should be allowed to be continued in a civilized society under a democratic set up in the name of agitation.

Gautam said general public suffered due to the protest. He contended that he was not able to go to his destination as a result.
