HANSAL MEHTA FILES RTI AGAINST RAM LEELA, MADRAS CAFE

John planning a film on motorcycle racingFilmmaker Hansal Mehta, who rose to fame with his film ‘Shahid’, has been very upset because his film received an A certificate during its release.

The director had come across films like Madras Cafe and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela who were passed without an A certification and had more adult content compared to his film. He believes that Shahid should be given a U/A certificate and has filed an RTI against these films. The director is currently facing trouble to sell the satellite rights of the film because of the A certificate and believes that his film was treated with discrimination during certification.

‘Shahid’ is made in the real life story of lawyer and human activist Shahid Azmi and stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead.
