sponsors and supporters of the event – Khela Group of Companies, Sapphire

Kalra Group of companies, My Loan Expert, G & A Roadlines, Gill Roadways,

In the last 6 years the GOPIO Sydney NW Chapter team has raised more than

$20,000 for underprivileged primary and middle school students in India. The team

has thoughtfully used the money raised to distribute and provide warm clothes,

shoes, clean drinking facilities, furniture and sports equipment where it is much

needed. The team has additionally supported locals in need, assisting with funds

and moral support. This has included being able to provide financial support to a

young helpless widow, provide prosthetic legs to a high school student with a

disability, provide financial help to a father of two, diagnosed with cancer and

assist those who suffered due to natural disasters, such as the victims of the Blue

Mountains Bush Fire and Nepal Earthquake.

This year’s event at Bowman Hall, Blacktown became yet another success for the

GOPIO Sydney NW team to continue their good deeds in raising funds for those in

need. Chapter President – Prof. Balkar Singh Kang, Vice President – Paramjit

Multani, Treasurer – Baljit Pelia, Secretary – Sumit Joshi and other active team

members, Harmohan Singh Walia, Baljinder Singh, Sanjeet Hooda, Raj Singh,

Aman Singh, Amrit Dhaliwal, Neeru Singh, Tia Singh and Ravi Singh worked

tirelessly but motivationally to make the Caring & Sharing 2015 event, a great

success. Hard work was well appreciated when the audience gave a standing

ovation to the team for their efforts.

“GOPIO team representatives personally have attended, and will continue to attend

remote area schools, in India, to hand deliver goods and resources to less

privileged children. They also continue to look at further opportunities and areas in

which to provide care, help and support. GOPIO Sydney North West Chapter

endlessly thanked the kind and caring nature of all guests, sponsors, performers,

media personnel and community who have shown their support to the Annual

Caring & Sharing events – let’s continue to make a bigger difference together!”,

Mr. Walia was quoted as saying.
