Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian today announced a tender has been released for the delivery of a new multi-storey commuter car park at Padstow, as an artist’s impression was also displayed.

“The NSW Government is wasting no time in delivering much needed public transport upgrades for Western Sydney under the $770 million Transport Access Program,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“Once completed the new multi-storey car park will provide more than 90 commuter car parking spaces and a number of short-term shopper car parking spaces, along with motorcycle parking, bicycle stands, toilets and a ground floor pedestrian plaza.”

East Hills MP Glenn Brookes welcomed the investment in what he said was an important project for local commuters.

“These improvements will provide easier access to transport services from Padstow Station as well as nearby shopping facilities,” he said.

“This tender release will ensure that a contractor is on board and ready to start delivery of the project as soon as planning approval has been received.”

Local residents and businesses will now have an opportunity to view and provide feedback on plans for the new commuter car park. Feedback will be considered in finalising the project design. Construction is expected to begin later this year.

The car park is being delivered as part of the Transport Access Program, a NSW Government initiative to deliver accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure where it is needed most.
