Diwali Celebration Fair 2014 organised by Australian Indian Cultural Council Inc.

22Dawned the day in the history as the first Diwali Celebration in the Hills District by Australian Indian Cultural Council Inc. (AICCI).

The magnanimous efforts put by AICCI was evident in well-planned array of stalls, children rides, cultural programs, DJ and other supporting facilities in the venue.

It appears the blessings were showered by almighty with one the sunniest day recorded in October. The event was inaugurated by Puja (GaneshVandana) and lighting of lamp by Hon. Matt Kean MP (Parliamentary Secretary for Communities, Member for Hornsby), Cr. Gurdeep Singh (Deputy Mayor Hornsby Shire Council), Cr David Citer (Kurin-gai Council), and AICCI team.

The day lighted up with scintillating performances by more than 300 performers and cultural groups with Bhangras, Dances, Kids programs, Musical items, Dhol Tasha, Flash mobs and excellent work by MCs to keep the crowd tied up in their seats. The crowd enjoyed the sumptuous and yummy Indian food with variety provided by three renowned caterers in Sydney. Some other stalls offered information ranging from property, banking, Indian clothes, cosmetics, jewellery,Gold Bullion & Safe Deposit box that promoted the business in the area.

The crowd was enchanted with numerous Lucky Dooer prizes offered during the fair that ranged from Lakshmi Gold Bar, Safe Deposit Box, memberships to swimming centre, driving school lessons, Indian restaurants membership card and gifts ranging from mobile phone, tickets to upcoming concerts and Airfare to India to name a few.

And when the Sunset finally arrived, the lighting in both ground and sky provided the ambience along with scintillating performances to bring heaven on earth. This was reinforced by one of the largest crowd (8000+) ever witnessed in the Hills to North Shore District that made it the event to remember for years.

The day ended with exceptional show of colourful fireworks that lit the sky and ground giving a touching finale to one of the biggest and best shows in the area ever.
