Divine force continues for Divya Sagar in successful sports career in Tennis, Softball and Baseball

Indian National Player who wishes to represent Australia some day and win hearts of both countries

The game of baseball has been much-loved by lot of people for decades. With Over more than a century long run, this amazing sport has brought to fore some of the finest athletes and sportsmen. One of the astounding young players representing India in the national team currently to be mentioned on this note would be S.P Divya Sagar. She has had and continues to have a tremendously great successful sports career in both Baseball and Softball, representing her City, State in various Baseball and Softball Tournaments and more significantly representing India at International level at the recently held LG Cup 2015 International Women’s Baseball Championship Seoul, South Korea.

tournamentDivya Sagar is 23yrs of age born in Kollapur Village, Mahabubnagar District, India from where her family moved when she was 2yrs old and are settled currently in Neredmet; Madhuranagar, Hyderabad, India. She is born to her wonderful Dad V. Krishnaiah Business owner by profession and her loving Mom V. Sri Laxmi who is a Home-maker by profession. Divya Sagar has successfully pursued her Master’s Degree in Accounting and graduated from Deakin University and MIT College in Melbourne and is currently keeping herself busy and aiming to settle down in Australia.

Divya’s sports career started off at the age of 10 when she started playing Tennis, Baseball and Softball for fun and slowly and gradually her fun for these sports transitioned into a passion for her. Her Coaches D.R.C.Kiron (Tennis); L.Rajendar (Baseball); Raj Kumar and Chinna Krishna (Softball)  and peers have recognized her amazing sports talent and have encouraged her immensely which in turn boosted her Belief and self-Confidence to aspire and accomplish more as a team player.

Divya Sagar is one of the Best Second Base (Fielding position in the field, between third and first base) in Baseball. Her position as a second base is most significant position as it is one of the most important defensive positions in the Base Ball game. She possesses quick hands and feet, has the ability to get rid of the ball quickly and is able to make a pivot on the double play. She has a very good range since she has the field balls closer to the first base.

She had taken up the role of Captaincy for the past 3 years and led the team very effectively. She mentions about some of the great qualities she has developed along the way in her successful Sports career so far and continues to build on these to have a striving sports career going forward in the future.

  1. a) She is Resilient and Disciplines herself to stick to the set of routines for maintaining her preparedness towards the game.
  2. b) She possesses unique quality of Lightning reflexes and making Instant decisions on the spur of the moment.
  3. c) She has Unshakable self-confidence even in the face of setbacks.
  4. d) She has very good learning ability and very adaptive to the new strategies and roles while playing the game.
  5. e) She maintains a stable, upbeat positive attitude and reacts with a positive mind set after a rough or an unlucky play.

In addition to her tremendous success in her Baseball sports career, she has been very successful at Softball game playing as a catcher. She has absolutely great catching skills in terms of Blocking pitches in dirt, throwing to Bases, Fielding Bunts, blocking home plate properly, catching foul Balls etc. She is very hardworking and always went an extra mile, sometimes even beyond her call of duty as a team player to win as a team. Her accomplishments in all the softball tournaments show that she is a Solid Catcher.
