DESIGNS REVEAL 21st CENTURY SCHOOLS IN THE HEART OF PARRAMATTA

Member for Parramatta, Geoff Lee joined Education Minister, Adrian Piccoli for the unveiling of the winning designs for the new Arthur Phillip High School and Parramatta Public School.

“Gone is the bitumen and concrete making way for green open spaces,” said Geoff.

“Skilful design and architecture means the new schools will give students three times more open space. They will have access to gardens and grass that extends all the way up to the roof of the primary school” Mr Lee added.

“The new learning spaces will be bright, modern and flexible. Movable walls and stackable furniture means classroom layouts can be changed to better suit the lessons,” Geoff added.

“The designs reveal two 21st century schools. More wireless coverage means students will have the opportunity to learn and use technology both inside and outside the classroom,” commented Mr Lee.

“These are schools of the future and the public schools of first of their kind in NSW”.

“Both schools are expected to be built and operating by 2019.”
