Chandigarh born represents Australia at the G20 Youth Summit

summitChandigarh born Shriya Gupta, a current student of Bachelors of Commerce studying at Deakin University, Australiarepresented Australia as the Minister of Finance at theG20 Youth Summit held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany.

Currently perusing her major in Accounting and Finance, she has been very active throughout her school and university life.

Shriya is working as the Team Leader for Cloud Mentor Program at Deakin University and also a Youth Representative at City of Whitehorse, Government of Victoria.

From April 29 to May 3, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany was home to the G20 Youth Summit. The aim of the summit was to discuss the world’s most pressing economic and social problems, establish an intercultural discussion and build business partnerships and the Global Market challenges pertaining to economic and non economic perspective.

Shriya presented her suggestions relating to micro-financing, social entrepreneurship, recommendations on improvement of the state of agriculture in developing countries, cross-country tax barriers.

The result of a 3-day G20 Youth Summit will be the final Communiqué (recommendations) discussed and approved by the participants. The Communiqué will be disseminated throughout the world and shared, in particular, with the G20 Heads of States and leading international organizations such as IMF, World Bank, OECD, European Commission and others.
