The latest dining destination to open its doors in Glebe is ‘Bhoomi’, a contemporary Indian restaurant paying homage to Mother Earth. Bhoomi is the latest creation of passionate restauranteur Indrani Matta

and is situated in the historical location previously occupied by the reputed Darling Mills restaurant in the heart of Glebe. Bhoomi’s inspired dining experience offers up the best dishes from the Indian subcontinent enhanced with contemporary cooking techniques for a delicious twist.

At the heart of Bhoomi, is Head Chef Chanaka Nalin Gunasekarage. Upon entering Bhoomi, hints of saffron, cinnamon and basmati will awaken diners’ appetites. At the Indian clay oven known as Tandoor, Bhoomi’s chefs are hard at work infusing unique smoky flavours into the menu. Signature dishes include Palak Paneer Gnocchi, Dal Chawal Arancini with Pickled Mayo, and Lamb Shanks with Khicharee Risotto. At the full service bar, mixologists craft cocktails infused with spices and ingredients found in the Indian pantry. Their version of a margarita, The Smoky Chigali, is not to be missed. The cocktail is a combination of smokey mezcal, jalapeno syrup and tamarind, rimmed with paprika and served smoked with apple wood.
