From last few years, Soni Razdan has been working on a script, which will be based on a book. However, currently she is not ready to reveal the name of the book, but she just said, “It’s a powerful and usual love story set in the India of the 40s.”

And ofcourse, after watching her daughter Alia’s performance in the film ‘Highway’, Soni wants to cast her in the film. Soni said, “She’s a perfect fit for this period romance.” She further added that Alia knows about this script. Soni will be also directing the flick.

But, Alia starrer film won’t be starting anytime soon, before that film Razdan will direct another love story.

According to the grapevine, the movie will be produced by Pooja Bhatt’s Fisheye Network and Dino Morea’s Clockwork Films. It is learnt that it will be based on the well-known Nanavati murder case of 1959, where naval officer KM Nanavati tried to murder Prem Ahuja, his wife’s lover.

Soni didn’t reveal anything about the film, but confirmed that it is based on a true story. “All I can say is that it’s based on a true story and an exciting relationship,” she said.

The Alia Bhatt starrer will start after Soni finishes this flick.

“It will definitely not happen this year. Maybe I’ll put it on floors towards the end of 2015,” she said and jokingly she added, “Alia has to give her nod and the dates before we can roll!”
