Kabul, Feb 26 (IANS) At least two people were killed and several others injured when a suicide bomber, driving a car packed with explosives, targeted a vehicle of the Turkish embassy in the Afghan capital of Kabul Thursday.

“A suicide car bomber targeted a two-vehicle convoy of the Turkish embassy. The driver of a Turkish vehicle was killed in addition to the suicide attacker,” Deputy Interior Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Ayoub Salangi said.

The Turkish and Iranian embassies are adjacent in the centre of Kabul, Xinhua reported.

The blast took place outside the gate of the Iranian embassy, the minister said.

At least four vehicles were destroyed in the explosion.
